Description | The proposed $4 billion aluminum smelter in Inola, Oklahoma, would be the first new U.S. primary aluminum smelter built in about 45 years. Developed by Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) in partnership with Century Aluminum, the facility aims to produce more than 500,000 tons of aluminum annually using newer emissions-control technology. Construction is slated to begin at the end of 2026, with the facility expected to be operational by 2030.
