Old Bank Street Firehouse Affordable Housing Conversion

completed

The Old Bank Street Firehouse in Harwich Port, Massachusetts, has been converted from a decommissioned municipal fire station into a mixed-use landmark featuring three one-bedroom affordable apartments on the upper level and a community gathering space on the ground floor. The project preserves the historic building's exterior while adapting the interior for modern residential use and community functions, serving as a trailhead and neighborhood anchor adjacent to conservation land.
