Description

Description	A 300-acre parcel of land in Wiscasset, Maine, was initially planned for affordable housing development funded by a $240,000 federal grant from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). However, plans shifted towards exploring the feasibility of a $5 billion data center on approximately 200 acres of the property. This shift led to the rescinding of the federal housing funds by Lincoln County due to misalignment with housing priorities and lack of public engagement. As of 2026, the land remains undeveloped, and the affordable housing project stalled.
