O&M Facility Upgrades -- Victoria Training

This project creates a maintenance training centre by upgrading the existing Victoria Transit Centre (VTC) tire bay. Due to the unique nature of transit buses, battery electric buses (BEB), transit bus specific training programs are not readily available. Specialized training, developed and delivered internally in collaboration with bus and component manufacturers is required to ensure the existing fleet and future electrified fleet can be maintained. With the introduction of new technology such as BEB that requires specific training, it is becoming more challenging to schedule training with public certifying organization due to limited availability and locations of training. This project creates a space to accommodate bus and other training aids for hand on training activities.
