Information Porject Completed Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project is included under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, PMKSY-AIBP and prioritized in 2016 for early completion. The Omkareshwar Multipurpose project is being constructed across river Narmada near village Mandhata of district Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh. The project envisages construction of 73 m high concrete dam with gated spillway and to generate hydro-power with installed capacity of 520 MW [8 units of 65 MW]. The project will provide irrigation waters in Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani and Dhar districts of Madhya Pradesh. The project is divided into following units. Unit I - Dam, Unit II - Canal, Unit III- Surface Power House 520 MW [8x65] The construction work of Unit II is further divided into phases. Phase-III- It includes construction of Right bank flow canal from 65.5 km to 142 km. During inclusion of Project under PMKSY-AIBP in 2016 Balance Cost of the Project was Rs 46.86 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 46.86 crore CA released since 2016 till October 2021- 31.93 crore State Share released through NABARD under LTIF till October 2021- Nil Physical progress- 93.30 percentage Financial Progress- 72.68 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 48590 Ha Irrigation Potential created till October 2021- 41260 Ha Projected Date of Completion- March 2022
