Description | OMV and Masdar have signed a binding agreement to form a joint venture for the financing, construction, and operation of a 140 MW green hydrogen plant in Bruck an der Leitha, Austria. The project began construction in September 2025 and is expected to be one of Europe’s largest green hydrogen production facilities, slated to begin operations in 2027. OMV will hold a majority stake, while Masdar will own 49 percent. The plant will support OMV's emissions reduction plan at its Schwechat refinery and contribute to Austria's hydrogen economy and Europe's clean energy transition. |
