On-Street Infrastructure Improvements

• The scope of the project consists of installing the following transit infrastructure components to the City of Barrie’s transit system: - 16 “bus” displays (informs transit users at bus shelters of timing and routes of upcoming bus arrivals) - 16 heated shelters (to promote multi-modal transit) - 100 bike racks - 750 new bus stop signs - 135 shelters (of varying sizes) - 7,900m3 of concrete bus pads (to prevent the issue of asphalt distortion at bust stop). • The goal of the project is to update and improve existing infrastructure to meet accessibility standards under the Accessibility Ontario Disabilities Act (AODA). The project will improve capacity, quality and safety of existing and future transit system and access to public transit.
