The overall objective of the project "On the way of culture and crafts -Šakiai – Budry" - increasing the sustainable use of cultural and natural heritage in tourism in Šakiai-Budry cross-border area by establishing cooperation between Zanavykai Museum and the Budry Municipality. Joint activities have been planned to increase number of tourists by preserving the cultural heritage of crafts and the development of LT-PL cultural tourism. Main activities: creating a common tourist route based on cultural and natural heritage "Trail of culture and crafts - Šakiai-Burdy", preservation, sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage for tourism purposes by developing educational programs that include craft techniques in both countries, transfer good practices between beneficiaries through organization of handicraft workshops and joint cultural activities for tourists in places of heritage by launching a cycle of join cross-border bicycle rallies every May and kids exchange. Budget 965 940,59 EUR.
