One Health for Inclusive WASH Services Project in Pader District Schools

under construction

The One Health for Inclusive WASH Services project is a six-year initiative launched in 2021, implemented by Amref Health Africa Uganda with support from Water for All. It aims to improve access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services in underserved communities in Pader District. The project has installed solar-powered piped water systems, rehabilitated boreholes, and constructed improved latrines with private washrooms and incinerators to support menstrual hygiene management. These interventions have reduced the distance to water sources, improved sanitation facilities, and boosted school attendance and retention, especially among girls.
