Description
Description | ExxonMobil, BP, and Shell are in discussions with ONGC for a potential partnership in ONGC's $5-billion deep-sea project in the KG basin, specifically targeting the underperforming KG-DWN-98/2 block off India's eastern coast. The project involves several discoveries grouped into three clusters, with only Cluster 2 currently producing. The partnership aims to boost production and navigate the basin's complex geology. Exxon is seen as a strong contender, and a new partnership structure is likely needed for risk-sharing and safeguards. |
