Description | The new Ontario Science Centre at Ontario Place is a 400,000 ft², four-storey waterfront complex designed by Snøhetta and Hariri Pontarini Architects. It will replace the former Don Mills campus and include exhibition, education, and event programming with hands-on exhibits, flexible learning environments, workshops, and immersive science spaces. The project also involves restoration of existing pods and upgrades to the Cinesphere, including enhanced IMAX systems and acoustic improvements. The facility aims to meet Rick Hansen Foundation accessibility certification and is part of the larger Ontario Place redevelopment, which includes public open spaces, shoreline trails, beaches, playgrounds, and the RBC Amphitheatre. |
