Description
Description | Ontario cancelled its Starlink satellite internet contract, originally valued at approximately $92 to $100 million, intended to provide high-speed internet to 15,000 remote locations including northern First Nations communities. The cancellation was due to geopolitical tensions and prioritization of Canadian providers. The settlement payout to SpaceX remains confidential but is reportedly significantly less than the contract value. Ontario is focusing on expanding fibre-optic infrastructure as an alternative. |
