The "Open Gates" project allowed participants from Arad in Romania and Békés in Hungary to get to know each other´s activities. A conference was held, covering the operation of Hungarian student organizations, student rights, and European Union practices in these areas. A camp was organized, again, for students from Arad and Békés, where participants could get an insight into the practical aspects of student organizations representing students' rights and interests in each other's countries, from the foundation of such organizations to their management, with a special focus on choosing and training leaders. Student organization leaders participated in a special training course, learning about the things that are indispensable for efficient work as a student leader. Finally, making use of the accumulated experience, a practical guide for the training of student organization leaders was written. This is a truly innovative publication: neither Hungary, nor Romania had such a guide before.
