OpenAI AWS Capacity Purchase and Infrastructure Expansion

OpenAI agreed to purchase $38 billion worth of capacity from Amazon Web Services (AWS), utilizing hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GPUs in the United States to run workloads on AWS infrastructure. The initial phase will use existing AWS data centers, with plans to expand OpenAI's infrastructure. OpenAI is also developing additional AI computer infrastructure locations in the United States, including a flagship location in Abilene, Texas, and sites in Shackelford County, Texas, as part of its $500 billion data center plan called Stargate.
