OpenAI's Stargate is a massive data center project aiming to build multiple large data center campuses across the US and globally to support AI compute demand. The project includes the development of several data centers such as the Abilene site in Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and others, with partnerships involving Oracle, Crusoe, CoreWeave, and Core Scientific. The project focuses on building high-capacity data centers with power capacities ranging from hundreds of megawatts to gigawatts, incorporating novel designs tailored for AI training and inference workloads.
