Description

Description

The CoE, Natolin, established in the early 1990s, was the first truly European educational institution opened in one of the then-candidate countries to the EU. Since its establishment, the CoE, Natolin contributed to European integration and EU affairs by educating youth, carrying out research activities, and facilitating debates between policymakers, academics, youth, and other relevant stakeholders with a particular focus on EU Eastern frontier. Accordingly, the CoE, Natolin has been recognised as an “institution pursuing an aim of European interest”, a status re-confirmed in Regulation (EU) 2021/817 of the European Parliament and the Council 20 May 2021. The educational activities are organised for, on average, a total of over 120 students from c. 30 countries. The core activity of the programmes comprises courses and lectures taught by both the resident staff (including the European Civilization and the European Neighbourhood Policy Chairs) on the one hand, and over 100 professors, experts and civil servants forming a multicultural “flying faculty” on the other. Additionally, the academic programmes include study trips, organised each semester, featuring unique bi-annually updated themes pertinent to the selected destinations. Being a recognised platform for debates on European matters, the CoE, Natolin functions as a dynamic, international, and inclusive hub for academics, practitioners, and graduate students engaging them in a mutually enriching process of transnational intellectual exchange aimed at studying and shaping the EU. The CoE, Natolin has two primary research units - European Civilization Chair and the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair. The CoE, Natolin offers a comprehensive array of capacity-building activities, courses, trainings, and other types of events with a view to enhancing audiences’ professional competences and awareness corresponding with main challenges ahead of the European Union.
