Description
Description | EPHA’s unique positioning as the leading European Public Health NGO advocating for better health for all, makes its activities under this grant instrumental to keep health high on the political agenda in the year of the European Elections. OG-EPHA-2024 envisages an ambitious plan to act upon EPHA’s SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES, while responding to the public health priorities outlined in the EU4Health Programme that emphasise health promotion and disease prevention, reducing health inequalities, strengthening health systems and access to healthcare. In the EU elections year, EPHA will INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE KEY PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES, while making sure to AMPLIFY THE VOICE OF PUBLIC HEALTH civil society. EPHA’s main topics in 2024 include the health workforce, antimicrobial resistance, European Health Data Space, Pharmaceutical Legislation, climate crisis, indoor air quality, health equity, anti-discrimination, (digital) health literacy, risk factors like tobacco and alcohol use, and the European Health Union, many identified by the Belgian Presidency as their key health priorities. To BOLSTER THE EVIDENCE-BASE FOR EUROPEAN PUBLIC HEALTH POLICY developments, EPHA will deliver on the Advocacy Strategies across all its policy clusters, carefully monitoring and evaluating the impact. To BUILD CAPACITY to efficiently respond to the challenges and opportunities for improving health in Europe, EPHA will provide comprehensive training and capacity building to its team, members, and partners. EPHA will FORGE NEW AND STRENGTHEN EXISTING PARTNERSHIPS with the key health actors to amplify the impact of civil society’s contribution to EU policy objectives. Finally, but vitally, to ENHANCE ITS ORGANISATIONAL FUNCTIONALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY, EPHA will improve its organisational performance, implement its long-term funding strategy, and continue reviewing its governance. To enable the organisation to address the upcoming challenges, EPHA will start developing its Strategy 2026-2030. |
