Description

Description

The European University Institute (EUI) is an international postgraduate teaching and research institute. Set up in 1972 by the six founding Member States of the European Communities its aim is to provide advanced academic training for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and to foster research in fields that are of particular interest for the development of Europe. The three pillars of activity of the EUI are: Training of Early Stage Researchers through excellent research, Policy-Relevant Research, and Postgraduate and Executive Education. In all three areas, the EUI delivers real benefits to European societies by reinforcing Europe’s higher education and research area, and its policy-making abilities. Our state of the art facilities include an extensive social sciences research library and the official Historical Archives of the European Union. In addition, the Institute offers an innovative master's programme in transnational governance, as well as summer schools and a full calendar of executive education opportunities. The EUI is also home to the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies which focuses on interdisciplinary policy research. Established in 1993, it carries out both basic and policy-oriented research and collaborates with other centres of excellence around the world. The EUI's School of Transnational Governance trains current and future leaders in the methods, skills and theory of global governance, helping them develop policy-making strategies which transcend national borders. The School offers executive training seminars and policy leader fellowships as well as a two-year Master in Transnational Governance. Thematic areas focus on emerging topics of critical importance worldwide, such as: Public Leadership, Management and Administration International Political Economy and Regulation Politics, Democracy and Citizenship Peace, Conflict and Security Digitalisation, Technology and Media Climate, Migration and Health Gender and Diversity
