Description	In January 2009, the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia announced that Energo Pro Georgia had assumed legal ownership of the 18 MW Ortachala hydroelectric power station (HEPS) in Tbilisi, and had completed the payment of the US$25.25 million purchase price. Generated output was expected to be supplied to one of Georgia's regional distribution companies. Energo Pro Georgia was the local subsidiary of Energo Pro[Czech Republic]. The full divestiture of the Ortachala HEPS followed a competitive bidding process. The Ministry of Economic Development launched the tender in November 2008 and set the date for the final auction for Dec. 19, 2008. Energo Pro Georgia, which was the only bidder at the auction, submitted an offer of US$25.25 million, just above the minimum price of US$25 million set by the Ministry. In addition, Energo Pro announced that it would invest US$7 million in the rehabilitation of the plant over six years.
