Description

Rotor Elektrik Uretim A.S., a project company wholly owned by Zorlu Elektrik Uretim A.S. [Turkey], developed the 135MW Osmaniye Wind Power Plant, located in Osmaniye, southern Turkey. The project was developed on a greenfield, build, own and operate (BOO) basis. In September 2007, Zorlu Group, the project sponsor, acquired an 80% stake in Rotor Elektrik, which had secured the 30-year license to build and operate the project. The EUR220 million (US$305.8 million) project reached financial closure in May 2009, with the signing of the project loan agreements. Financing comprised debt of EUR130 million (US$180.7 million) and equity of EUR90 million (US$125.1 million). The debt comprised a 12-year EUR45 million (US$62.6 million) term loan from EBRD, a 12-year, EUR55 million (US$76.5 million) term loan from IFC and a 10-year EUR30 million (US$41.7 million) term loan from EIB.
