OSS Training Program, Leading Energy Efficiency for BUILDing

The BUILD-OSS project is designed to tackle pressing challenges in Spain's building energy renovation sector by developing a comprehensive One-Stop Shops (OSS) training program. With over 55% of Spain's buildings constructed before 1980 and 70% rated poorly for energy efficiency, there is a critical need to enhance energy rehabilitation efforts in line with EU Directive (EU) 2024/1275, which mandates Member States to establish technical assistance facilities to improve building energy performance. The project aims to create and validate an integrated training curriculum encompassing technical, financial, legal, and soft skills required for effective OSS operations. The program will target a diverse range of professionals, including OSS Managers, Technical Personnel, Legal and Financial Experts, Communication Specialists, Back-Office Staff, Social Workers, and Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Technicians. By addressing the specific needs of these roles, the project will increase the number of certified professionals and promote workforce diversity through targeted training and practical experience. BUILD-OSS will also enhance workforce participation, especially among youth and women, and provide hands-on training through internships and job placements. The project includes developing a sustainability strategy to ensure the long-term impact and scalability of the training program across Europe. By filling gaps in Spain’s current training landscape and aligning with EU directives, BUILD-OSS aims to improve building energy performance significantly, support Spain’s compliance with EU regulations, and advance broader sustainability and climate goals.
