Description | The Otraco Transport Project for Belgian Congo will provide for the purchase of: new equipment for ports, railroads, workshops, rolling stock, motive power, tugs, and barges; as well as the improvement and expansion of track, yards, stations, and ports. The project includes the equipping of a recently built quay wall with fifteen electric cranes and the completion of warehouses on the new quay. The project further includes the procurement of shunting locomotives, small handling equipment and minor improvements in the port area; such as fencing and the improvement of the rail connection with the petroleum port of Ango-Ango operated by the oil companies. This project will provide the transport capacities needed by the Belgian Congo for a number of years to come. |
