Description
Description | The OTRart project is an experimental project looking at the ecological transition process and landfill sites in the Mediterranean region. Six partner countries are working together : France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Croatia, and Malta to exchange and share knowledge, build skills between partners and, of course, consider the role of cultural and artistic practices in ecosystem resources. The partners share with the project a sensitivity concerning environmental challenges and transformative art, intertwining waste management awareness with artistic initiatives. Art, with its universal, transversal and inclusive dimension, is indeed a powerful medium to raise awareness on global issues. The project partners share the need to address issues related to wasting and have conceptualized transnational artistic residencies and workshops, carried over the course of two years, hosted by each participating country. These residencies and workshops will be addressing two main thematics : waste within the Mediterranean and recycling processes of waste within art. The project highlights the way in which we think about the issue of waste in art and circularity. The project will consist of an initial eight months pilot phase, during which 4 artistic residencies will be set up on the thematic of wasting; the second phase will consist of eight months of artistic recycling and eco-conception laboratories with the various target audiences; while the final months of the project will be devoted to the production of a video, a digital gallery and a catalog of the project’s results. The purpose of the OTRart project is to acquire new skills, particularly in the field of art, in order to better respond to the ecological transition. |
