Description | The City of Ottawa's transportation master plan for the next 20 years does not include a ring road across the southern part of the city. The plan was approved by the city council and focuses on transit, road, and active transportation investments needed by 2045. Although there was a motion to conduct a full evaluation of a southern ring road, it was removed from the final plan. The ring road would have served as an alternate trucking route to divert vehicles from the Queensway through the centre of Ottawa, reducing heavy truck traffic in small villages like Manotick and Osgoode Ward. |
