Description

Description

The OCCA plans to build a 35,508 sf Community Centre to serve the Oxford and area. Currently, Oxford has a population of 1,100, and centrally located within Cumberland County, a new Centre will not only serve the Town, but also the 30,000 residents within the County. Over the past two years 135 international employees (plus 60 additional family members) have moved to the Oxford area and at least 30 residents have migrated from other parts of Canada. A further 20 families are expected to arrive in the next year. This significant growth for a small town can be supported by a new OCC. Losing our OCC in 2018, the need to rebuild our community hub and improve access to services and social activities is evident. We plan to achieve this by building a net zero OCC that will host a gym, meeting space, childcare, kitchen, library, and more. This new Centre will support the community’s evolving needs and provide an inclusive and accessible space for socialization.
