The projects’ main objective is to support the effective and efficient EUSDR implementation, especially to reach the PA 8 targets. The Governance of the PA 8 is quite challenging because of the following reasons: Relevant actors in the thematic context of PA 8 very often act disconnected. By fostering the linkages among value chains and with the better use of the comparative advantages and strengths of the different regions PA8 aims to achieve a better coordination among PA’s actors and to better involve key stakeholders in the PA activities. A specific focus will be set on closing the gaps in transnational value chains or better connectivity between different parts of these chains (e.g. Bioeconomy or Creative Economy) or which can be seen as horizontal preconditions for a future-oriented approach (e.g. Economy 4.0, Dual Education). In order to support the Governance of the EUSDR as effective as possible, strategically suitable already running projects with macro-regional relevance within the relevant thematic fields will be integrated into the work of PA8. Through this exercise PA8 will capitalize the results and activities of these projects also in terms of an effective implementation of the PA8 EUSDR targets and usage of synergies as much as possible. The facilitation of various interlinks among potential regional stakeholders and political, regional and thematic actors thereby strongly contribute to the strengthening of the EUSDR Governance also through strategical cross-linking of already existing initiatives, projects and funding opportunities. In order to use the full governance supporting potential of this integrated approach, the thematic work will strongly be combined with the Steering Group meetings, matchmaking events along and across the value chains with on-the-spot visits of "success stories".The above interlinkages can pave the way for various cooperation initiatives among relevant stakeholders in the post 2020 period.
