The project’s main objective is to ensure the implementation of a stable and effective governance system for EUSDR Priority Area 2  "To Encourage More Sustainable Energy", with specific objectives of (1) to support the Steering Groups in implementing the EUSDR PA2, (2) To support communication and increased visibility of the PA2 and dissemination of PA2’s achievements, and (3) To support project promoters to develop successful transnational projects in the field of energy. These objectives focus on fostering cooperation among international, national, regional as well as local actors in the Danube Region in 3 main areas of (a)  providing support to achieve the 2030 energy and climate targets, (b) to help them in removing existing bottlenecks to fulfil the goals of the Energy Union, and (c) to better interconnect regions by joint activities with relevant stakeholders, initiatives, organizations and institutions, within and outside the EUSDR governance. By various activities (such as studies on the energy landscape of the Danube region, expert seminars for discussion of the challenges and solutions feasible for the region, and platforms for networking and knowledge transfer) the Priority Area is aiming to provide science-based impartial information and data for informed decision making, creating a platform for knowledge transfer, disseminating examples of good practices and supporting development of cross-border and transnational cooperation.
