The facility would be located on a roughly 665-acre site near the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in McCracken County, Kentucky. The project is valued at nearly $2 billion and is expected to create 240 new, high-wage jobs. The Kentucky Resources Council is petitioning the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to pause the licensing process to review concerns about the Department of Energy's authority to sell depleted uranium and the sufficiency of the environmental analysis. |
