Description	The project consists of an IFC loan to invest, expand and operate the natural gas distribution system in Gebze. Palmet A.S. has established a subsidiary PALGAZ A.S. for Gebze to hold the natural gas distribution license. PALMET A.S. owns 89% of PALGAZ A.S. with the local municipality owning 10%. PALGAZ A.S. will subcontract its respective operations to a joint venture between Palmet and Terasen International, a subsidiary of a major Canadian natural gas transmission and distribution company, who is Palmet’s technical partner. Currently Palmet is a Turkish project management and contracting company which is entering the gas distribution business as a complement to and diversification of its telecommunications business.
