Pali Hill Waste to Energy Plant Revival

planned

Mumbai plans to revive the Pali Hill waste to energy plant in Bandra, which was non-operational since 2025. The plant was originally launched in 2018 to process nearly one tonne of wet waste daily, generating electricity for local street lighting and compost for landscaping. The revival aims to modernize the facility, explore funding options including CSR, and potentially expand its capacity to serve the growing residential population. This initiative supports decentralised waste management to reduce landfill dependence and methane emissions.
