Panacadie Trail Phase 1 - Moncton

This project consists of the construction of trail connection from Moncton riverfront, around wetlands to Lewisville Road. The Panacadie trail is an important artery in the City’s overall trail network. It will eventually make its way from the Riverfront at South King to Mapleton Park largely following Halls Creek (thus the Acadian name of the creek, Panacadie). The trail will be built in 4 phases with timing being influenced by several infrastructure projects (sewer) in the East End and at the University of Moncton, as well as development in the Vision Lands. Phase 1 consists of the portion next to Andrew Lane along the marsh to East End pool/park to the corner of Botsford and St. George. It includes boardwalk and crushed stone tailing surface (total length approximately 400-metres), shade trees, shade shelter/lookout, site furniture and lighting. A call for tenders will be issued in early 2021 as the drawings are currently at 90%. The value of this phase is higher due to the elevated cost of incorporating boardwalk in much of this section.
