Description | Panchkula is set to get its first horticultural waste processing plant. The Municipal Corporation (MC) has purchased machinery directly from the vendor who installed a similar facility in Chandigarh. The plant will be located in the Industrial Area and operated by a private agency. It will convert horticultural waste into briquettes, providing an eco-friendly alternative to dumping and burning. The MC has approved an expenditure of Rs 2.42 crore for equipment including a briquette machine, hammer mill, flash dryer, tractor-mounted grab bucket, and pollution control system. |
