Description
Description | The Project involves the management, improvement, operation, and maintenance of the Panguil Bay Bridge (PBB), a two-way, two-lane 3.17-km bridge (consisting of a 2.24 km bridge and 0.929 km approach road component) which is a sea crossing bridge located in Panguil Bay, Northern Mindanao (Region X) that connects Tangub City in Misamis Occidental and the Municipality of Tubod in Lanao del Norte, Philippines. This project is Mindanao’s longest sea-crossing bridge, with the total investment cost funded through an Official Development Assistance(ODA) loan with the Korean Export-Import Bank - Economic Development Cooperation Fund (KEDCF). The bridge construction started on February 28, 2020, and was inaugurated on September 27, 2024. With the construction of PBB, travel time between Tubod and Tangub is significantly reduced from 1.5 to 2 hours to approximately 7-10 minutes. The PBB is expected to catalyze economic growth in Northern Mindanao. Farmers and traders now have a reliable means to transport goods, significantly reducing costs and increasing efficiency. |
