Description | In December 2001, Sino-French Holdings was awarded a 30-year concession contract to upgrade, own, operate and manage the facilities of Panjin Water and assume responsibility for the production and sale of treated water in Panjin City, Liaoning Province. The total capacity of the plant was 110,000 cubic meters per day. To implement the contract, Panjin Sino French Water Supply Company Ltd. was created as the project company in which Sino-French took a 60% stake, while the remaining 40% was held by the state-owned Panjin Municipal Water Supply Company. Sino-French, in turn, was a 50/50 joint-venture between Suez water subsidiary Ondeo and New World Infrastructure of Hong Kong. Total investment was 60 million yuan (US$7.25 million).
