Description | The project involves constructing a small dam on the Ken River at Patne–Aber in Panna district with a storage capacity of 250 million cubic metres (MCM). From this dam, a 110-km canal will be built, including 90 km of open canal and 20 km of tunnel, discharging into the catchment area of the Dauri Sagar Dam at Pindra in Majhgawan tehsil of Satna. Water from Dauri Sagar will join the Mandakini River. A 25-MW hydro power plant is proposed near the Shabari Waterfall downstream of the Dauri Sagar Dam. The project aims to divert 250 MCM of Ken River water into the Mandakini River, with Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh each diverting 125 MCM from their shares of Ken–Betwa Project water. The project will provide irrigation benefits to both states and clean water for pilgrims in Chitrakoot. |
