Description | ExxonMobil Corp expects to restart production from its Papua New Guinea liquefied natural gas (LNG) project at the start of May after it was shut following a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in February. The $19 billion LNG facility, opened in 2014, is located in a remote area of Papua New Guinea and is considered one of the world’s best-performing LNG operations. The LNG export terminal may not produce at full capacity initially and will ramp up gradually. ExxonMobil has also recertified the reserves in its P’nyang field, which are higher than previously thought, providing potential for facility expansion. |
