Description
Description | The Financial Sector Technical Assistance Project for Paraguay aims at assisting with the modernization of the financial system through the implementation necessary actions to carry out the Government's financial sector reform program and to modernize its payments and settlement systems. The project has the following three components: Component 1) will support the ongoing reform of the banking legal framework by strengthening the Superintendency of Banks (SB) through a series of activities in which consultant services will be engaged, training will be provided, and goods for IT infrastructure will be acquired. Component 2) will support a comprehensive reform of the payments system, including the launch of safer and more efficient systems and an improved legal and oversight framework. Component 3) will finance activities to ensure an efficient implementation and adequate monitoring of the different project components, as well as compliance with the Bank financial management and procurement guidelines. |
