The TBM Chessie broke through the receiving pit on Island Two on January 27, 2025, reaching its final destination. The project faced challenges including encountering a ship's anchor and metal debris, which required specialty grouting solutions to continue tunneling. The project is forecasted for completion in early 2028. |
