Fospar S.A. won a 25-year concession to rehabilitate and operate a terminal of fertilizer (TEFER I) at the Port of Paranagua (State of Parana) on April 1, 1998. The total area of the terminal is 84,525 square meters. Fospar has to pay monthly installments of US$ 63,000 (R$ 76,000) to APPA, the government agency responsible for the Port of Santos. The company expects to invest US$ 25 million (R$ 30 million) during the concession period to rehabilitate the terminal facilities. Fospar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cargill, invested US$ 22 million in the terminal, which commenced operations in 2001. In 2011, Fospar announced an additional investment of US$ 8.3 million (BRL 13.6 million) to improve its terminal facilities. Only port projects which committed US$ 10 million or more in investments were included in the database. From 1998 to December 2000, the company invested US$ 25 million (R$ 46 million).
