Terminais Portuarios da Ponta do Felix S.A. won a 20-year concession to expand, rehabilitate and operate a terminal at the Port of Paranagua on April 25th, 1995. The total area of the terminal is 72,000 square meters. The company has to pay monthly installments of US$ 13,800 (R$ 13,400) to APPA, the government agency responsible for the Port of Paranagua. A refrigerating facility, with a capacity to 6,000 m tons and a pier of 300 square meters, with a capacity to receive medium sized ships, will be constructed. The company expects to invest US$ 115.3 million (R$ 112 million) during the concession period to expand and rehabilitate the terminal facilities. It is expected that the terminal will move 6,000 m tons per day of products, among frozen poultry, cattle meat, frozen juices and others. The terminal will specialize in refrigerated cargo, namely poultry and hogs meat. As of December 2003, the company was controlled by a Brazilian pension fund, Previ (43% of the total capital).
