Description | The Parandur Greenfield Airport project was conceived as Chennai's second international airport to ease pressure on the existing Chennai airport. The project covers around 5,700 acres across 13 villages in the Kancheepuram and Sriperumbudur regions. Approximately 1,700 acres of land have already been acquired for the project. The newly elected Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government is considering shelving the airport project and repurposing the acquired land for a SIPCOT industrial park. |
