Description

Project Objectives: The U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh invites proposals for think tanks or similar organizations to research and produce a comprehensive report, study, or documentary analyzing Cambodia’s progress to date in meeting the pledges set forth in the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements. The target publication date would be late October, to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Agreements on October 23, 2021. The successful proposal would draw on a variety of sources, including interviews with participants in the 1980s and early 1990s peace process, the UNTAC mission in Cambodia from 1992-1993, current government officials, current or former journalists, outside experts and others. Participants and Audiences: This funding opportunity is available to organizations who are interested and have experience conducting research and producing substantive, high-quality reports on similar topics. The published report or product should target an international audience of foreign governments (including the Cambodian government), non-government organizations including human rights NGOs, academic experts focused on Southeast Asia, and media covering issues in Cambodia or Southeast Asia. Timeline: The grant will be issued by April 30, 2021. Projects should be carried out by October 31, 2021.
