Description
Description | Paris has unveiled the Paris Téléphérique, also known as the Câble C1, the longest urban cable car in Europe. The cable car connects the south-eastern suburb of Créteil to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges via five intermediate stops, aiming to ease daily commutes and connect isolated suburbs to the wider public transport network. The €138 million project took a decade to build and nearly 17 years from proposal to completion. It operates 105 gondolas, each carrying up to ten passengers, running daily from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with a gondola departing every 23 to 37 seconds, and is expected to carry around 11,000 passengers per day. |
