Description

Description

PARC is recognized as an "anchor" in the community. The programs and services offered by PARC and the other non-profits operating out of the building, serve the entire community of Parkdale, including seniors, youth immigrants, refugees, the arts community and those experiencing homelessness, unemployment and social isolation. The building is a 100 year-old, three-story, 40,000 sq. ft. facility, centrally located in the heart of Parkdale. The renovation will rejuvenate the tired building and make it more energy efficient by replacing windows and the roof, insulating walls, and replacing the 25-year-old rooftop HVAC units with a new, highly efficient centralized HVAC (VRF) system. Accessibility and fire safety systems will conform to the highest standards. The renovation will not only improve energy efficiency, accessibility, and safety but will reduce GHG emissions, make PARC more resilient to climate change and reduce the risks and costs associated with it.
