In June 2013, Zuma Energia (95%), a partnership of the British investment fund Actis (70%) and Mesopower Mexico Corp. (30%), and Comexhidro (5%) was awarded the license to build and operate a wind farm located at the municipality of Santo Domingo Ingenio, state of Oaxaca. The power plant was designed to have a total capacity of 50 MW. The electricity generated by the power plant was set to be directed to the Mexican national grid. The special purpose company P.E. Ingenio, S.A.P.I. de C.V. to manage the project. Total investment in the wind farm was estimated at US$ 250 million. In September 2014, Bancomext approved a financing package for the project but the details were not disclosed. The Spanish company Acciona Energia was hired to undertake the construction works and operate the facility for a 15-year period. The contract with Acciona was worth US$ 111 million.
