Description | Parque Solar Cangrejera, S.A. de C.V, an El Salvadorian subsidiary of the Spanish company Grupo Gransolar, S.L, announced the development of the Parque Solar Cangrejera photovoltaic (PV) located in Canton Cangrejera (La Libertad), El Salvador (1.48 MWp in capacity). The environmental report was approved in January 2015. The investment was estimated at US$ 4.2 million and financial closure was achieved in November 2015, when the Corporacion Interamericana de Inversiones (CII) approved a US$2.7 million loan to support the project. The energy generated by the solar plant was sold through three-supply contracts signed with Compania de Alumbrado Electrico de San Salvador S.A. de C.V. (CAESS) and Distribuidora de Electricidad Del Sur S.A. de C.V. (Del Sur). |
