Main objective : The ‘third sector’ (charities, voluntary organisations, social enterprise) is a vital part of the economies of France and the UK. The PART3SEC micro-project aims to identify the actual scope and reach of the third sector in the UK and France, and to investigate synergies between businesses from each country. The partners will conduct research between France and the UK in order to identify structure, scope and scale of the sector. Finally, the project will design a common tool that will be used to assess the economical and social impact of the third sector. Main actions : - Realization of a survey to study third sector organisations. - Analysis of the impact of the third sector on the economies of France and the UK. - Creation of a glossary of terms used in community/voluntary sector, and clarification of the differences between France and UK’s third sectors. - Organisation of two joint conferences between businesses and organisations in the third sector to discuss research findings and explore joint issues/links. - Production of a final report including recommendations for future cross-channel third sector collaboration and examining the possibility of developing a tool to evaluate the value of the third sector in the French and UK economies.
