Description

Description

The European Parents’ Association (EPA), established in 1985, is the only EU-level umbrella organisation exclusively representing parents in education. With 29 member organisations across 17 countries, EPA empowers millions of families to participate meaningfully in shaping resilient, inclusive, and future-proof education systems. This Erasmus+ Framework Partnership Agreement 2026–2027 proposal outlines EPA’s multi-annual strategy to strengthen its role in advancing EU education priorities, aligned with its Strategy 2026–2030. EPA’s mission centres on parental empowerment and policy influence through five Strategic Priorities: 1. Enabling parental engagement in education policy, ensuring parents’ voices shape EU and national decisions. 2. Promoting inclusive and equitable quality education, focusing on disadvantaged learners and integrating migrant families. 3. Supporting holistic child development and well-being, advocating for emotional, social, and mental health in learning. 4.Equipping families for the digital age, enhancing digital literacy and safe, ethical technology use in education. 5. Advancing active citizenship and values-based education, fostering critical thinking, sustainability, and democratic participation. EPA’s activities—conferences, awards, training, consultations—facilitate capacity building, grassroots-to-policy dialogue, and systemic impact. Its EU project experience includes IntegratED, Sirius, Media Literacy for Parents, and Family Skills. With this grant, EPA will expand outreach to underrepresented areas, professionalise multilingual advocacy, and reinforce EU-level cooperation, contributing to the European Education Area, Child Guarantee, Digital Education Action Plan, and Union of Skills strategy. EPA bridges policy and practice by anchoring EU goals in families’ daily realities, ensuring that education policy is co-created with those closest to learners.
