Description | The Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) is undertaking a major capital improvement plan to replace and repair aging water mains in North Jersey. The plan includes replacing over 18 miles of pipes by 2027 with a $63.5 million budget and a total $890 million capital plan through 2031. The project addresses the replacement of century-old water mains, construction of enclosed water storage tanks, water production and pumping upgrades, and replacement of lead service lines. The project aims to prevent future water main breaks and crises affecting up to 800,000 residents. |
