PATHWAY TO YOUTH WORK

This project aims to transform and enhance youth work and non-formal education in Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, countries challenged by socio-economic complexities and widespread misconceptions about non-formal education. Acknowledging youth workers as pivotal changemakers, the project seeks to elevate their qualifications and competences through a comprehensive program. This includes the development of e-learning courses on non-formal education, capacity-building trainings on I. Non-Formal Education and II. Youth Mentoring and Coaching, creation of reference manuals on I. Non-Formal Education, II. Youth Work Good Practices, III. Youth Mentoring and Coaching, support for educational product design and practice training delivery, study visit for best practices, one-to-one mentoring to youth workers, design of new youth initiatives, evaluation seminar and practice reports, and community building for sustained impact. The capacity building program is designed around the European Training Strategy's competences model, focusing on facilitating learning, program design, teamwork, and civic engagement, while also addressing other competences. It was conceived in response to needs expressed by youth workers in the region, aiming to foster quality learning, stimulate innovative activities, and ensure the active participation of young people. This effort aims to contribute to the European Youth Goals beyond Europe and the Youth Action Plan and promises to build a robust community of practice, enabling the replication of successful strategies at local and national levels. During the project lifetime, 18 youth workers will be directly capacitated, and 90 youth workers will be trained by the directly trained ones, and about 500 young people will benefit from the practice training, new initiatives, and coaching sessions during the project. Finally, an excellence community of practice will be built and sustained to expand the impact of produced results and achieved outcomes.
